Regional partners include the IPPF regional office (based in New York), the UNAIDS Regional Support Teams (based in Panama and Trinidad and Tobago) and Redla+ (Red Latinoamericana de Personas viviendo con VIH/SIDA).

Regional partnerships are being consolidated in the Americas to support the future rollout of the index in the region. The international partners worked closely with the IPPF regional office (based in New York), the UNAIDS Regional Support Teams (based in Panama and Trinidad and Tobago) and Redla+ (Red Latinoamericana de Personas viviendo con VIH/SIDA) to plan, implement and support follow-up from the regional training workshops.

The regional training for the People Living with HIV Stigma Index took place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (24 - 27 June 2008) for 19 participants from 16 countries in Latin and South America and the Caribbean: El Salvador, Argentina, Guatemala, Colombia, Honduras, Paraguay, Panama, Brazil, Jamaica, Haiti, Guyana, Ecuador and Peru. The facilitators were from IPPF, UNAIDS and Redla+ (and were from Chile, Mexico, Trinidad and Robago, the Dominican Republic and Australia). Observers attended the meeting from UNAIDS Regional Support Office,  UNAIDS Dominican Republic, Pan-American Health Organisation (PAHO) and the national family planning association of the Dominican Republic (Profamilia). The workshop was conducted in English and Spanish.
