In Thailand, the stigma index initiative is being implemented by the Thailand Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS (TNP+) and is closely aligned with a project on AIDS rights advocacy and protection being implemented by the Foundation for AIDS Rights (FAR).
In the area of rights, laws and policies pertaining to PLHIV, it was found that majority of the respondents had very little knowledge with regards to their rights.
Majority of the respondents also identified themselves as belonging to key populations, with 52.7% being Injecting Drug Users, 23.2% prisoners(former and current), 10.7% Men who have Sex with Men, 6.7% were gay or lesbian, 6.4% were sex workers and 4.3% were transgender
The Fiji Network for People Living with HIV and AIDS (FJN+) conducted the People Living with HIV Stigma Index in the Fiji Islands in 2010. A sample of 45 People Living with HIV were interviewed in Suva and Lautoka on the Island of Viti Levu and in Labasa on the Island of Vanua Levu.
Regional partners include the IPPF regional office (based in Kuala Lumpur), the UNAIDS Regional Support Teams (based in Bangkok) APN+ (the Asia Pacific Network of People Living with HIV, based in Bangkok) and ICW Asia-Pacific (based in Delhi).
