The People Living with HIV Stigma Index in The Rwanda was conducted in 2008 and was published in 2009 (July).
The survey involved 1 530 respondents, the majority (1120/1530) of the respondents were females and 410 of the respondents were males.
Being married or cohabiting and being widowed were the main relationship status group reported by respondents. It is interesting to note that there were four times more widows than widowers.However, male respondents are three times more likely than female respondents to be married or cohabiting with a spouse in the same household.
