

Welcome, Annah
7 September 2020Please join us in welcoming the newest addition to the GNP+ PLHIV Stigma Index team: Annah Sango. As an advocacy officer, she will be working closely with the team in providing technical assistance to countries implementing the PLHIV Stigma Index. She will focus on providing assistance to countries on how to turn the results of the PLHIV Stigma Index into advocacy actions.
Annah is an SRHR and HIV champion and expert, with 8 years of experience in advocating for the rights of young people, especially the rights of young women. She has worked at local, national, regional, and international levels on gender equality and women’s empowerment, sexual reproductive health and rights, and youth development.
For the past 4 years, Annah worked as the Executive Director of Zimbabwe Young Positives (ZY+), which is a network of young people living with HIV that seeks to amplify the voices of young people and adolescents through advocacy and meaningful engagement in decision making platforms. During her time at ZY+, Annah spearheaded and led an Advocacy agenda, supported by three programmes (READY to Lead, READY+ and PITCH). In addition, she is a member of the Zimbabwe Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM), SRHR Africa Trust Country Advisory Committee (CAC), Community, Rights and Gender Advisory group (CRG), Women Deliver Young Leaders Program, and Young African Leaders Initiative Alumni, among other regional and international forums.
