Welcome, Fatou

6 July 2020

We are excited to announce that the PLHIV Stigma Index team at GNP+ has a new member: Fatou Mbacké Sy. As a research officer for the program, she will be working closely with the program manager and program officer in providing technical assistance to countries implementing the PLHIV Stigma Index and will support the management of the program globally.

Fatou is a public health professional with several years’ experience working closely with PLHIV and key populations in HIV research, community-based programming and capacity building. She is an advocate for stakeholder empowerment and has a keen interest in research which stems from the understanding that knowledge of the contexts in which social and health issues not only arise but persist is key to efficiently addressing them, and building resilience by reducing vulnerability in a sustainable way. Fatou has a B.A in Anthropology and a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH). Fatou is fluent in English, French and Wolof, and is a national of Senegal.
